Yes, stop going after goals. Start creating your own systems.
In the field of self-improvement, we are sometimes told to set goals that are ambitious, measurable, and time-bound. But what if your growth is truly restricted by focusing on goals? The results are the objectives. Systems are the routines, habits, and frameworks that carry you much beyond that point.
The possibility of writing a book may inspire you for six months. However, a system makes daily writing a normal part of who you are. Over time, systems outperform their objectives. The fact is that goals might be demotivating if they are attained or abandoned if they are put off. In contrast, systems provide consistency. When you focus on establishing a system—getting up early, reading daily, and marketing your business daily—you stay on course even if you don’t have a defined objective. Do you wish to grow your business? Don’t focus on getting ten thousand followers. Create a content plan. Trying to shed pounds? Instead of simply focusing on a number on the scale, establish a routine for meals and exercise.
Goals generate pressure; systems generate momentum. The top performers in the world do more than just set goals. They develop frameworks that allow them to get through both good and bad days. They recognize that advancement is the result of everyday participation rather than a single push. As a result, rather than asking what I want, ask what system will take me there and allow me to grow beyond it.
Success is not the end of the journey. The procedure is well-organized.
